Arts Administrator in Drama School, London School of Dramatic Art (LSDA)

Description

Job Summary

We are looking for someone to join LSDA's lively and supportive environment as our Administrator. The responsibility of the day to day running of LSDA is split between the Principal and the Administrator. The role and responsibilities therefore varies a great deal on a daily and monthly basis.

Job Description

Arts Administrator Vacancy at Acting School (Full Time)

LSDA is a small and relatively new training centre and compared to larger, more established schools our budgets and resources are limited. This does not, however, impact our standards or limit our aspirations. Through imagination, passion, good humour and a great deal of inventiveness we strive for educational and creative excellence.

LSDA is still in development, something that affords the staff and tutors the opportunity to put their stamp on both the job and also the school as a whole.

Ensuring LSDA runs efficiently can be tough, exciting, and complex at times and it is essential that anyone wishing to join the team would enjoy this challenge.

This is an ideal job for someone wishing to gain experience in Arts Administration or a similar environment.

Although experience in the fields of performance or education are not essential you'll need to enjoy working in a School devoted to the craft of acting and be at ease dealing with both students and tutors in a busy and pressurised environment.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibility of the day to day running of LSDA is split between two positions: the Principal and the Administrator. This fact means that the work of the Administrator varies a great deal.

A vital aspect of the job is to provide an interface between the School and the general public. The Administrator is the first person that prospective students and members of the profession will have contact with whether it is on the telephone or in person.

Good organisational skills are obvious but you should also be computer / internet savvy and have a good understanding of social media.

There is a lot of opportunity to create and take ownership of new projects, as well as co-ordinate and implement new office procedures.

The person in this position will also act as the daily contact for the students. This will include practical and personal issues that arise within the realm of acting training.
