Beach Supervisor, Big Penny Social

This summer Big Penny Social's pop up beach Walthamstow on Sea returns for a second year due to popular demand. The beach is the perfect chance for people to feel the sand beneath their feet, munch on some fish and chips or soft serve ice cream and enjoy a programme of beach events without leaving East London. This year the beach will be open to the public Friday-Sundays with daytime activities aimed at families as well as a range of private events taking place throughout the rest of the week.

Who We Want

We are looking for 2-3 Beach Supervisors to join the team to help in the day to day running of the beach. The Beach Supervisor will be a key member of the team delivering 'Walthamstow on Sea', supporting the Operations, Events and Food and Beverage teams to make the beach a success.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have good availability from w/c 3rd June - w/c 9th September. This role will be required to work Friday-Sundays throughout the period as well as some evenings and weekdays as required.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Overseeing the day to day running of the beach
• First point of contact for guests and beach bar/floor team
• Setting up the beach ready for guests when opening
• Closing beach and securing for overnight
• Supporting the management of bookings and liaising with guests
• Upkeep of the site throughout the day
• Supporting bar team during busy periods
• Setting up and overseeing beach events including kids play sessions
• Supporting the events team with the delivery of private hire events
• Contributing creatively to the running of events across the season
