Job Description

The Diocese of London is seeking tenders for a Fundraising Consultant to devise a match funding strategy for a £4million National Lottery Heritage Fund project. The project will restore a Grade II* listed closed church in a central London Conservation Area, removing it from Historic England's Heritage At Risk Register and bringing it back into community use. The role of Fundraising Consultant is a fixed-term contract with a contract fee of £22,500 for the Development Phase and £9,000 for the Delivery Phase. The contract will run from May 2024 to July 2028 (split between Development and Delivery).

Job Responsibilities

  • Creating a fundraising strategy and fundraising action plan.
  • Advising the LDF on the formation of a fundraising group/sub-committee to work with the fundraiser and the Project Board.
  • Writing a Case for Support, which will form the basis of all fundraising messaging.
  • Researching appropriate funders and producing a shopping list of opportunities consisting of different project elements and matching these with potential funders.
  • Undertaking research, on: trusts and foundations and grant giving bodies; prospective individual donors.
  • Drafting: applications to trusts and foundations and grant giving bodies; proposals to individuals; proposals to companies; messaging for the campaign.
  • Working with the LDF and fundraising group to launch and manage a fundraising campaign to the community.
  • Leading the development and drafting of the Second Round NLHF application for the Delivery Phase funding.
