Job Description

We are looking for a Hires and Events Officer to lead on all venue bookings at Theatre Peckham and Canada Water Library Theatre. The role will help us to cultivate, nurture and retain existing relationships and bring on new clients. The role is responsible for generating income for the charity through hires of spaces and co-ordination of events.

We will be reviewing applications and holding interviews on a rolling basis. This means that we will not wait until the deadline has passed to invite candidates in for an interview and we may close recruitment before the deadline above if we find the right candidate for the role. As such, we'd advise you to get your application in as soon as possible.

Job Responsibilities

Assessing the feasibility and appropriateness of enquiries received to hire any spaces at Theatre Peckham and Canada Water Library Theatre, taking forward agreed options to the scoping and quotation stage

Scoping the feasibility of delivering the hire, working with Venue Manager and Technical Manager to ensure all logistical requirements have been considered

Providing the agreed quotation to parties enquiring to hire any of the spaces, ensuring a detailed breakdown of costs including any catering, additional AV or other requirements beyond basic room hire, and specifying access, start and finish and pack-down times for the booking

Keeping a log of any enquiries we could not accommodate and undertaking analysis of sources of enquiries, to inform more focused marketing

Consistently working towards reaching the hires targets for both Theatre Peckham and Canada Water, as given by the Head of Finance

Cultivate new hire clients and exploring new avenues for income generation
