Senior Studio Technician, Science Ltd

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Studio Technician to join our busy tech team based in South London. An excellent opportunity to learn technical based skills to further your career in the creative industry. This role would be suitable for production assistant, artist assistant or any relevant position who have experience handling and assembling delicate goods and heavy items.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Overseeing smaller groups of technicians within the team
  • Working on exhibitions and projects at the initial planning stage, through to install and deinstall.
  • Assembling and packing of all artworks, sculptures, cabinets, tanks - within the studio.
  • Careful loading, transportation and unloading of delicate goods including artworks in between studios and other private building.
  • Completing stock takes and ensuring that stock levels are sufficient.
  • Looking after and maintaining tools and any work-related equipment.
  • Reporting to the Technical Manager and working closely with management, you will play a key part in the day-to-day smooth running of the studio.
  • The primary focus of the role is working with 3D artwork, but this role may require you to assist and support other areas of the company.
  • Always thinking commercially.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have Art Handling experiences.
  • Diverse practical skills and experience in moving, handling, installing, and storing various delicate goods.
  • Proficient on MACS and use of Microsoft packages.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • A forklift truck license and experience of operating and using a wide range of tools and machinery would be advantageous.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Must be comfortable with physical labour.
  • Must have a clean and full driving licence.
  • Will be proactive and have a flexible approach to work, take initiative and think on your feet.
  • Is willing to work at other locations when required.

OTHER INFO

  • Salary of £30,000.
  • Permanent position
  • The working day is from 9 am to 5 pm, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday)
