A new choir in Blackpool - Producer, The Sunday Boys

Description

A new choir in Blackpool - Producer

The Sunday Boys (www.thesundayboys.com) are looking to support setting up a new open access choir in Blackpool.

The Sunday Boys was formed by Michael Betteridge in January 2016 to give Manchester an inclusive LGBTQ+ choir for low voice singers in the city to learn to sing great music, perform and make friends.

The Sunday Boys is open to any one who sings with a low voice (ie tenor or bass) and wants to sing in an inclusive and friendly environment. Members don’t need any singing experience to join, just a desire to learn, make music and give it a go.

We are looking for a Producer to work with us to establish a new choir in Blackpool, with support from local organisations. Setting up this choir, working with an Artistic Director, will lead to performances in Spring 2023 and work towards the choir being established and self-sufficient.

The timescales for this project will be set between the new Artistic Director, the Producer and with support from The Sunday Boys directors.

This position will be paid on a day rate of £150. There is currently a budget for 10 full days, with capacity to extend this (in discussion).

This choir being established, rooted in and representative of Blackpool is very important to us. We work hard to make sure that The Sunday Boys is part of the Manchester LGBTQ+ community. As such, we are very keen to hear from Producers that live in, or are strongly linked to, Blackpool and have links to the LGBTQ+ community.

To apply, please write a short letter of suitability (no more than one page) and provide a CV demonstrating your suitability for this role.

Send your letter of suitability and CV to info@thesundayboys.com by Monday 2 October 2022 to apply.
