The job itself

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking to recruit to its museums team an enthusiastic and dedicated arts or museums’ professional, to work as the Beverley Art Gallery Curator. The postholder will work on the development, management and marketing of an exhibition programme and the mounting of exhibitions for the restored Edwardian Beverley Art Gallery; the caring of the art collections; the writing of external funding bids and the participating in meetings with senior council officers and with colleagues from the Humber Museums Partnership (East Riding, Hull, North Lincs).

The East Riding Museums Service has had considerable recent success with the Heritage Lottery Fund (projects include Treasure House – total project cost £7m, Sewerby Hall – total project cost £5m and more recently Hessle Mill - total project cost £1m).

As a result of East Riding Yorkshire Council becoming a Principal Partner of Hull, City of Culture, 2017, East Riding Museums, particularly Beverley Art Gallery, participated in the City of Culture programme.

East Riding Museums is a member of the The Humber Museums Partnership which was accorded Major Partner Museums Status in 2015 and National Portfolio Organisation Status in 2018.
