Artist Callout - £11,500 Commission Opportunity, artsdepot

Creative Schools Exhibition Project

We're looking for artistic collaborators to work with us and three schools in the London Borough of Barnet, to design and deliver an exciting workshop programme around the theme of environmental sustainability within the context of the built environment. This will culminate in an exhibition in the Apthorp Gallery at artsdepot throughout December 2022, which will be open to the public to engage with and enjoy.

We are interested to hear from artists and companies from all disciplines and backgrounds with exciting proposals around the theme of sustainability to animate and inspire our schools and community. You could be an architect, a theatre director, a digital agency, film maker, graphic designer, visual artist etc. If you have an idea that will spark the imagination of young people we want to hear from you.

Each school should participate in a minimum of three workshops led by the artist / company across Autumn 2022.

What we are looking for:

  • Artists or companies who are keen to collaborate with artsdepot, schools and the young people, to co-create a project.
  • Artists or companies that have experience in making work with young people.
  • Ideas that explore the theme of environmental sustainability within the built environment.
  • A clear explanation of how the artist / company will incorporate the young people’s ideas / work into the final exhibition.
  • A finished exhibition in the Gallery, open to the public in December 2022.
  • We are particularly interested in ideas that embed digital thinking into its creation and / or delivery but this is not essential.
