About the role.. Salary: c. £25,000 base + commission (predictably £10k+ /yr) + share options You'll be the first person Encore customers speak to after they have made an enquiry with us, and you'll be their trusted advisor throughout their buying journey as they curate, compare and choose a band to perform at their event. By helping customers find the perfect musicians for any occasion, you will be playing a key part in creating thousands of unforgettable musical experiences for people all over the UK and Europe, and you'll be helping make it possible for our musicians to earn a living as they entertain and inspire audiences with their craft. The nature of this work is fast-paced and particularly thrilling on days when we close high numbers of bookings. You will be making a direct impact on Encore's success by helping hundreds of customers every week at various stages of their journey. On a typical day, you will speak to dozens of customers, coordinate automated sales sequences to new inbound leads over email, and liaise with our best musicians to help win bookings for them. And as someone who speaks to our customers every hour of every day, another key part of your role is to pass on feedback from customers to our Product team so we can improve the platform for everyone. About you.. (required) Experience in a customer-facing role Excellent communication skills, spoken and written Attention to detail A keen eye for opportunities to streamline your own workflow and help more customers in less time (desirable) Sales experience Previous experience booking musicians for gigs (or as a musician yourself) Knowledge of the events industry and how people book suppliers Experience at a fast-growing startup / small business Good numerical skills You'll be joining a team of 5, reporting to our Inbound Sales Team Lead, Becky (https://www.linkedin.com/in/rebecca-tarry-a815727b/). Our interview process follows 5 steps.
1/ “Coffee chat” (up to 20 mins): an informal phone call with Becky to share more information about the role, and check your basic suitability before proceeding.
2/ First interview (up to 1 hour): a mix of general and technical questions, with Becky and another member of the team.
3/ Two-Part Task (~1 hour): (i) we stage a typical phone call, with you role-playing as the Encore Bookings Expert and us as a customer, to assess your phone manner, rapport-building and enthusiasm; and (ii) a short written task to be done on your own time.
4/ Meet the team (up to 1 hour): a chance to meet other members of the Encore team.
5/ Founder interview (up to 1 hour): a chat with our co-founder and CEO James McAulay.
