Job Summary

Steeldeck Rentals is looking for a Build Crew to join our friendly and experienced team at our London office, on a 6-month fixed-term contract. (2nd April 2024 – 29th September 2024)

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside our full-time project managers and build crew to assist with the safe installation and dismantling of staging, scaffolding structures, and tiered seating.

  • Assisting in safe loading and unloading of transport vehicles, both at our warehouse and on site.

  • Assisting in preparing kit lists at our warehouse for upcoming projects.

  • Occasional stock maintenance and checks alongside our warehouse team.

  • Assisting with deliveries and collections of our rental kit - including driving company vehicles to site.

Experience:

  • Proven level of experience in building stage structures or working on event build crews for theatre, events, festivals, TV, or Film.

  • Ability to interpret 2D design drawings and staging layouts, as drawn by Steeldeck project managers.

  • An understating of health and safety and safe working practices.

  • Own transport preferable along with a full clean driving licence.

  • Forklift Truck, Telehandler, IPAF and Working at Height Training is advantageous but not compulsory. Further training available.

Working Hours: 08:00 - 16:30 (Monday - Friday) although work outside of these hours on an overtime basis to be expected.

Salary: Hourly rate dependent on experience. Weekly salary for a 40-hour week, not including overtime. Overtime is payable at standard time for evenings and Saturdays and time and a half for Sundays, bank holidays and calls between midnight-06:00. Holiday allowance of 25 days (per year pro rata) plus bank holidays.
