artsdepot is looking for a part time Chef with relevant experience. This is a pivotal role in the functioning of the Café at arts depot.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be a reliable and proactive individual with an excellent eye for detail.

You should have excellent cooking skills, impeccable hygiene and health & safety awareness, and experience of working within a catering team in a diverse and busy retail catering environment.

The role involves working on a 7-day rota including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

The caf team is responsible for the day-to-day operation of arts depot's caf , bar and event catering service. Our customers include audiences for shows and events, visitors to artsdepot and onsite students.

Job Requirements

Previous experience in a similar role.

Proven experience of serving and dealing with customers.

Impeccable hygiene standards.

A commercial attitude towards service delivery.

Ability to use own initiative when working independently.

Ability to prioritise and work under pressure with good time management. Ability to analyse situations and solve problems.

Energetic, creative and enthusiastic team player.

Good standard of literacy, numeracy and comprehension.

Job Responsibilities

Prepping various ingredients including meats and vegetables.

Assisting the chef manager with the menu as required.

Working as part of a team and collaborating with the chef manager to prepare meals.

Cleaning up the kitchen space after cooking each meal and ensuring the prep area and kitchen is cleaned and sanitised at the end of the shift.

Assisting with maintaining a stock record

Properly storing food items at appropriate temperatures.

To undertake other duties as reasonably required.
