We are looking for a composer with an active career in film, advertising, game, or library music to lead a "Music for Media" workshop for a group of young neurodivergent artists (aged 16-25). This workshop is part of a Brighton-based series, supported by Arts Council England, aimed at empowering marginalized artists. The ideal candidate should have a well-established career in composing for major film, advert, or game productions. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with a personal connection to the neurodivergent community, whether through lived experience or close relationships within their circle. The workshop will be held in our Brighton studio and will run for a full day with 10 participants. We would like the participants to work on an imaginative brief in small groups, with hands-on guidance from the facilitator throughout the day. By the end of the session, participants should have a completed piece of work, and they will also have the opportunity to further develop their compositions in our studio over the following weeks. Their final works will be featured on local FM radio. Previous teaching experience is welcome but not essential. The workshop will take place in June 2025 (date to be coordinated with the selected candidate). We expect the candidate to design the workshop content, though we are happy to collaborate on ideas. A fee of £500 will be provided for the delivery of the workshop. To apply, please submit your CV along with an email detailing your experience as a composer / sound designer, your connection to the neurodivergent community and why you're suitable to deliver this workshop. Note: We may close applications early if we find the right candidate.Job Description
