Job Summary

The role of a Chaperone will directly work with the Ensemble of Pinocchio, two groups of local young people who will be performing alongside our outstanding professional cast.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

When the puppet Pinocchio magically springs to life, woodcarver Geppetto is astounded. How could this be? But just as the pair starts to figure out a life together, Pinocchio's mischievous ways lead him nose-first into an adventure of carnivals, crooks, fairies, and crickets, where he must learn what it really means to be real.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To oversee the care and management of each member of the Ensemble
  • To be responsible of the Ensemble's health, comfort, and moral welfare while under your care
  • To ensure a register is maintained and up to date throughout rehearsals, performances and any other activities which the Ensemble may be involved in as part of the Production
  • To ensure that safeguarding and other relevant policies are understood and followed
  • To report any safeguarding concerns directly and promptly
  • To maintain confidentiality of any information held about the young people you are working with
  • To always act in the best interests of Taunton Brewhouse

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Experience working with a range of individuals with various access, support, and medical needs
  • Strong and reliable communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Access to own transport to and from the venue
  • Proven experience of working with young people
  • Willingness to acquire a Chaperone License, which includes an Enhanced DBS Clearance

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Based in the South West of England
  • Previous experience of working on mid-scale theatre productions
  • An awareness of safeguarding policies and procedures

If you already hold a relevant license, please clearly state this in your application. Taunton Brewhouse will reimburse the cost of the Chaperone License Application of successful candidates.
