Role The Commercial Manager is a new and key role at Modern Art Oxford, which will develop income from the Shop, Cafe, and hires business. With commercial expertise and a passionate interest in sourcing, developing, and displaying products that enhance the contemporary cultural offer of the gallery, the successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sales budgets by maximising income through onsite shop sales and the gallery's online store. This role is also responsible for the activities of the Cafe as a public amenity, providing a welcoming and attractive place for our visitors to eat, drink and socialise; and for promoting the gallery's spaces and facilities for external hire. The successful candidate will provide support to the Deputy Director in managing all aspects of the retail, Cafe, and event hires operations, and take a leading role in proposing new commercial opportunities for the organisation as a limited company and charity. Essential Skills & Experience You will work closely with the Deputy Director and other Senior Management Team members to drive commercial activities forward and make a significant contribution to the strategic direction of the Shop and Caf , ensuring that they represent and support the brand of the organisation. The Commercial Manager post takes on additional responsibilities as a Duty Manager as required and manages a small team of Shop and Cafe staff.
