Empower Arts are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic, dynamic self-employed cover teacher of drama to join our growing company. You should be creative, inspirational and able to deliver a varied and exciting curriculum to children aged 18 months+.

We are keen to employ a teacher who believes in the power of play, imagination and collaboration all of which are developed through our fantastic theatre programmes.

Empower run drama classes to young people and are looking to appoint a new teacher to cover sessions. It would be preferable for the teacher to have teaching experience.

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Part-time hours: 5-9 per week

Salary: £25.00 per hour

Job Requirements

The chosen candidate will be required to teach during term time, starting anytime now and does not have to be available during all the dates provided below.

This will take place on a:

Monday 2:00pm-2:40pm in Ruislip

Tuesday 10:15am-10:55am in Chiswick

Thursday 10:00am-10:40am in Ealing

Thursday 5:15pm-6:15pm in Northolt

Thursday 3:15pm-4:15pm Ruislip

Friday 9:30am-10:10am in Hanwell

Friday 2:00pm-2:40pm in Isleworth

Friday 5:15pm-6:15pm in Northolt

Saturday 10:00am-10:40am in Northolt

There is also the strong possibility of further hours both after school and during school hours. We are looking for someone who can offer up to 2 years minimum commitment, this is due to the training involved.

Training, lesson plans, curriculum and scripts are ALL provided.

As this is a freelance role working with children, all applicants must be prepared to work on a self employed basis and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and references.

Job Responsibilities

Essential:

- Enhanced DBS (or willing to undertake one)

- A performing arts qualification, ideally in Drama, or equivalent professional experience

- Experience delivering successful performing arts lessons for children and young people

- An affinity for and desire to work with children and young people

- Excellent communication skills

- Appropriate and relevant experience for the advertised post

- Be a good communicator, organised and efficient

- Be motivational and inspirational

- Have the ability to form and maintain suitable relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people

- Own mode of transport

Desirable:

- Drama Degree

- Teaching Qualification

- First aid training

- Public Liability Insurance

- Performance Experience
