Creative Director, St James's Church, Piccadilly

Description

Creative Director (full time role)

£60k - £65 pa depending upon experience

St James’s Piccadilly is a lively, inclusive Anglican church in the centre of London.

We are at an important moment in our 337 year history, beginning a new chapter with a major building project soon underway including restoration of the 1684 Christopher Wren building. Together with that project, we are planning a new cultural programme as part of a revised business model, responding to changed social and economic circumstances. This will include the curation of impactful experiential events, open to people of all backgrounds, all faiths and none.

We are looking for an outstanding person to fill a new senior role of Creative Director, leading us into this new chapter. As part of the executive team, this role will be responsible for the delivery of the revised income generation model developed by St James’s. The Creative Director will relish the challenge of making the most of a central London location through the generation of an annual programme that embraces a rich history but which also, crucially, addresses society today; programming will take on contemporary challenges, complexities and injustices, exploring what it means to be human in the midst of it all.

The role might be for you if you value difference, of culture, of opinion, or belief, and understand that strong relationships are the best bridges. You have experience in excellent communication with and involvement of diverse public audiences; you love building partnerships and taking creative projects from conception through to completion.

St James’s Church Piccadilly wants its workforce to be representative of all sections of society. For the avoidance of doubt, we explicitly welcome applications from those who have UKME heritage; also those who identify as LGBTQ+.
