The Theatre Royal Haymarket Masterclass Trust (Masterclass) is looking for a highly organised, creative and resourceful multi-tasker to join our dynamic and adaptable organisation as Events Producer. This is a new role within the small and highly collaborative Masterclass team, responsible for producing a range of one-off events throughout the year, from fundraising galas to the TheatreCraft offstage careers fair. The role will suit someone with experience in theatre or event producing or stage management. The ideal candidate will have very strong organisational and planning skills, great powers of persuasion and the ability to mobilise teams that include staff and volunteers from different organisations. They will also be passionate about theatre and the future of the industry, and understand the needs of aspiring and emerging theatre-makers. This is a part-time role, working 28 hours a week (equivalent to 4 days). Salary is £25600 + 3% employer pension contribution (£32000 pro rata). Significant experience in event management, theatre producing or stage management Good understanding of the UK theatre industry and offstage roles, and a passion for live theatre Strong interest in creating access and opportunity for young people Commitment to inclusive practice Exceptional powers of forward-planning, organisation, coordination and multi-tasking Fanatical attention to accuracy and detail Strong powers of persuasion and good dose of charm Ability to remain calm and collaborative under pressure Good written and verbal communication Ability to work sensitively with a wide range of colleagues, beneficiaries, supporters, VIPs and clients Happy working as part of a small, dynamic, collaborative team Good IT skills Desirable Knowledge of Masterclass and experience of its programme Training in a theatre-related discipline, and / or experience of making theatre Securing venues for events Curating event content and style to meet a brief Securing and liaising with event sponsors & advertisers Identifying & booking speakers / workshop leaders / facilitators / entertainers Liaising with marketing to promote events Overseeing participant call-out and selection Liaising with event participants and creatives Specifying technical requirements, liaising with technical teams Ensuring appropriate event staffing; recruiting & managing any volunteers Carrying out appropriate risk assessments and ensuring that safeguarding protections are built into every event Scheduling & leading event steering meetings and rehearsals Event timings and logistics Overseeing event administration Project management, including get-in and get-out Ensuring collection & collation of feedback Supporting Masterclass' wider operations and regular programme Applicants should apply by e-mail to the Programme Director, [email protected], putting EVENTS PRODUCER in the email subject line.
