Food & Beverage Team Leader, Sage Gateshead


Job Description

Our F&B Team Leaders are key parts of our Audience Experience team. All F&B Team Leaders are direct representatives of Sage Gateshead; offering a welcoming, warm and professional service to our audiences and visitors. As well as being responsible for the F&B Team Members. You will work across our F&B outlets depending on business needs. This includes our bars, caf , waiting team and brasserie. You will also work on our prestigious conferences and external hire events. Our F&B Leaders & F&B Team Members will only be permitted to serve/sell alcohol in accordance with licensing law. If you are under the age of 18 you will be allocated alternative duties within the F&B portfolio. Must have availability Wednesday - Saturday daytime & evening.

Job Requirements

You must have proven experience of:

  • Leading teams & staff training
  • Good understanding of F&B operations, and Sage Gateshead's clientele
  • Experienced in both caf & bar/cellar work

Skills and knowledge:

  • Ability to work under own initiative Strong leadership skills, leading by example
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise a varied workload
  • A strong understanding of operational F&B requirements

It also helps if you have:

  • Cash management experience
  • Supervisor/Team Leader experience
  • Barista and cocktail trained

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Audience Experience and FOH Team to deliver excellent customer service
  • Serve customers efficiently and appropriately, with a professional and warm manner
  • To manage the Food & Beverage Team Members in the setting up of Food & Beverage areas ready for service
  • To ensure that hygiene standards are met and exceeded
  • Deputise for the Food & Beverage Team Mangers when required
  • To serve customers using an EPOS till system in adherence with Company Cash Management Policy
  • Cash Handling in adherence with Company Cash Management Policy
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and attention to detail
  • Ensure that the Food & Beverage Team Members are aware of their duties and responsibilities to up sell direct to customers by recommendation, specials and additional products to be promoted in customer sale opportunities
  • Motivate staff and lead by example to increase our trip advisor rating and reviews
  • Undertake duties as requested by your Line
