Job Summary

Arts University Bournemouth are seeking a production stage manager to work on two shows within our Autumn season for a freelance contract, performed in the university's campus studio theatre.

Job Description

FEE: £2600 inclusive per show.

4 weeks plus 1 day pre-production per show.

Availability for both shows preferable but not essential.

Performing Thurs, Fri, Sat AUB Studio Theatre

Working week for rehearsals is Monday to Friday, hours as required (mainly 9am-5pm, with one evening rehearsal in week 2 on a Wednesday 6pm - 9pm). Production weeks may be longer, including two Saturday performances per show.

Job Responsibilities

Liaise with Production Manager & Director

Manage rehearsal room health & safety and risk assess hazards

Unlock and lock up rehearsal room as necessary - normally 9am-5pm

Point of contact for all members of the production company. Students and staff

Work with and mentor student SM, DSM & ASMs

Floor Mark-Up

Assist DSM script prep

Chair weekly production meetings - organise, agenda, Teams setup

Manage furniture & props with student stage management team

Liaise with BA Costume and BA Make-Up department overcostume and wig fittings

Collate show specific information and liaise with all theatre departments via daily rehearsal reports

Give Production Manager show-specific content for the production risk assessment

Ensure consistency of AUB initiatives (Reset Better, Equity Safe Space etc)

Manage schedules and calls in production week

Run technical rehearsals during production week in AUB Studio Theatre

Organise returns of props and furniture

Reports to Production Manager and Creative Producer
