Job role: Freelance Publicist, The Amplify Project
Base of work: Work from home with regular virtual meetings with project leads Patricia Cumper and Pauline Walker
Fee: Flat fee of £3,000
Start date:  28th June 2021
Duration of project: June 2021 – January 2022
Interviews:  During week commencing 21st June (via Zoom).

We’re looking for a Freelance Publicist to devise and deliver a national PR campaign to promote and bring awareness to The Amplify Project, a new series of podcasts featuring Black British writers -poetry, fiction and drama

The Amplify Project is led by Patricia Cumper and Pauline Walker.  Each podcast is an in-depth interview delving into who the writer is and what their work is all about, the challenges and rewards of their chosen genre, and why and how they create their work.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Devising and delivering a national PR campaign
  • Setting up potential guest spots for Patricia and Pauline on podcasts that feature black podcasters/black writing
  • Delivering an online launch party working closely with the Marketer
  • Work with Patricia and Pauline to deliver the publicity for a crowdfunding campaign
  • Set targets for the publicity in discussion with Patricia and Pauline and write an evaluation report that will be included in the final report to our funder Arts Council England.
