Fevered Sleep are looking for a General Manager to support the team and the company’s day to day activities. The General Manager will be responsible for the operational elements of our business, including finance, administration, the day-to-day running of our building, governance, HR and compliance.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 3 days a week; 3 year fixed term employment

contract

SALARY: £29,000 per annum pro rata

LINE MANAGER TO: Temporary, freelance and short term contractual

team members

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

HOURS: 10.00am - 6.00pm.

Three working days to be agreed

LOCATION: St Margaret's House, 15A Old Ford Road, E2 9PJ

HOLIDAY: 17 days per annum (including bank holidays)

PROBATION PERIOD: 3 months

NOTICE PERIOD: 3 months

The General Manager will work with the Fevered Sleep team, associates, freelancers and Board and be critical to the smooth operation of the company, by supporting the administration of the business and our artistic projects.

Job Requirements

A successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • A minimum of two years relevant experience working in the cultural sector.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • A passion for the arts and the type of work Fevered Sleep creates.
  • Some experience of recruitment, contracting and financial systems.
  • Strong IT skills in office based software and hardware.
  • Experience of using bookkeeping software (we use Quickbooks).
  • An understanding of and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

A successful candidate will have the following qualities:

  • A hard working, enthusiastic and personable nature.
  • A collaborative, 'can do' attitude.
  • The ability to prioritise a busy workload and work flexibly to a high standard.
  • An enthusiasm for pitching in and problem solving with the team.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an organised, resourceful and ambitious individual with an interest in supporting the team and the company's day to day activities. The General Manager will be responsible for the management of the operational elements of our business, including finance and administration, the day-to-day running of our building, governance, HR and compliance. This post will have line management responsibility for the Company Assistant, and other staff and contractors as required.
