Guitar Teacher Team Leader, Berkshire Music Trust

We have the exciting opportunity for two guitar team leaders. This would involve leading a small team of guitar teachers and developing guitar teaching in liaison with the head of guitar and piano. We're interested to hear from all guitarists including classical and contemporary. You would have a portfolio of Guitar teaching including small group, individual and whole class and ensemble direction. Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week needed, term time only with the possibility of holiday courses. We teach 33 weeks across the academic year and training & support can be given.

Job Requirements

  • Have an extensive knowledge and understanding of how to use and adapt a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential.
  • To be able to deliver high quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the different types of qualifications and specifications and their suitability for meeting learners' needs.
  • Be an effective communicator.
  • To be a reflective practitioner and take responsibility for your professional development.
  • To have a driving license and access to a car.

Job Responsibilities

  • To promote the safeguarding of children and young people in line with our policies.
  • To line manage a small team of guitar teachers under the head of guitar and piano
  • To teach a portfolio of teaching to include small group, individual, whole class and ensemble direction as required.
  • To coach and mentor teachers in your instrumental area.
  • To be a positive role model across the organisation.
  • To promote the development and pedagogy of guitar playing.
