The Greenhouse – the UK’s first zero-waste theatre – is searching for a Head of Build to bring our venue from design to reality in London this summer!
Founded in 2018, The Greenhouse is an industry-leading eco-theatre company, who created the UK’s first zero-waste pop-up theatre. Through our shows, we inspire personal, emotional connections with the climate crisis. Then, through education, outreach, and workshops, we share the skills and knowledge audiences need to take action. Underpinning all of this, we lead by example. Everything about this project – from each individual show to our marketing strategies to the venue itself – is completely zero-waste.
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a set-builder, carpenter, designer, or artist to work alongside our Artistic Director, leading a team of 6 volunteer builders, and bringing our existing venue designs to life through our zero-waste methods. You will oversee the construction process – all other logistics (including material collection) will have already been taken care of. This will involve 5 weeks of construction, from June 14th to July 18th. We are particularly keen to hear from emerging creatives for this position.
We are offering a flat fee of £1,750, to cover 5 weeks of build, 5 days a week, 7 hours a day. This will also cover any preparatory and planning meetings as necessary.
