Installation Manager (Seedling Project), Carbon Theatre

Description

We are looking for an organised, friendly installation manager for the Seedling presentation week, 24 – 30 May.

Seedling is an exciting new audio installation by Northampton artist Helen Crevel focused on potential motherhood and environmental responsibility. As passers-by enter a structure located in the Grosvenor Centre, they are invited to take the time to stop and reflect, to consider the changes they would like to see in the world, and to ask themselves, ‘How do we live with hope?’

The installation seeks to provoke conversation around these issues, connecting them to our geographical and cultural heritage. The installation will be a specially designed space by artist Ruth Stringer, with its seed inspired shape covered with textiles and fabrics that connect to the cultural heritages of the team and those who visit. After audience members have listened to the audio piece they will be invited to reflect, take part in a creative activity (sewing or a simple weaving task) or just have a chat and a cuppa.

This is a freelance contract for 8 days.

You must be available for

  • Half day preparation w/c 19 May

  • Monday 24 May – Sunday 30 May, 9am - 6pm (daily, on-site)

  • Evaluation and debrief meeting w/c 31 May

You will be managed and supported by Courtenay Johnson, Producer, who will be on-site most but not all of the time, and other members of the creative team.

Fee: £1,200

Deadline to apply: 9am on Tuesday 11 May 2021.
