Working within the Estates and Facilities Management team and reporting to the Senior Estates Manager, the Mechanical and Electrical Manager will be responsible for the stewardship of the nationally significant buildings and monuments within the Royal Museums Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site. Key elements of the role will involve maintaining and improving the efficient running of all five sites across the Museum's estate, leading on the management of the M&E term contract, delivery of multiple capital improvement projects, and acting as the technical authority in all mechanical and electrical matters for the Museum's operations, with a focus on heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and utility management Further core responsibilities include managing the efficient use of energy around the estate, reporting on environmental conditions within galleries and stores in collaboration with the Collections Department, and maintaining all relevant statutory regulations and health and safety requirements, recommending improvements where required. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed upon with management. Salary: £50,000 per annum The successful candidate will have experience of Estates and Facilities Management at a similar level, and either possess a City and Guilds 2365 Part C, City and Guilds 2382-18, ONC, HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3, or have significant experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building services, or equivalent. Management of Health and Safety and statutory compliance experience is required, as well as Project Management experience. The post holder will be a highly effective team worker and departmental ambassador with strong communication skills, along with the ability to prioritise their workload and adapt to changing circumstances under pressure. MS Office, CAFM and BMS packages skills are required, as is a demonstrable commitment to sustainability.
