This is for ONE mural. There are TWO MORE mural opportunities. Please see the Open Call document below. Get It Done and Southwark Council are looking to commission three artists to produce three new murals down Peckham Rye Lane. The vision is to create meaningful, culturally resonant and timeless murals that capture the people that have shaped Peckham to be the place it is today. LIVE FROM THE RYE This mural will spotlight Peckham's musical culture, tracing its grassroots origins from sound systems and punk gigs to raves, jazz nights, and record labels. Artists are encouraged to reflect on how these musical traditions have shaped local identities and brought connections through shared rhythms. Your artwork could capture movement, dancing, performance, street parties, queer spaces, old- school record shops, or just the joy of people coming together over tunes. You could chart a timeline from Peckham's musical history into Rye Lane's future soundscapes. This mural hopes to create a conversation between the past, present, and future of music in our community, celebrating its role to bring people together. Each artist will receive a fee of £4,000. Whether you're a graffiti artist, typographic artist, abstract, print or collage artist, we encourage you to apply. We strongly encourage applications from people who are part of Peckham's communities, and those less represented in the arts generally. Get It Done and Southwark Council can offer mentoring to local early-career artists to develop this project. If you feel like you do not have all the essential criteria and experience but a strong vision, we encourage you to still apply.
