Job Description

We have explored and experimented with how emergent technology can transform how we tell our stories, on stage and online, for artists and audiences. The Digital Development department led on these wide-ranging projects and as we continue to grow, we now need an experienced Operations Lead to join the team to align activity and resources to the strategic plan, support data-based decision making by monitoring progress, budgets and resource availability. In this newly created role, you will ensure that the department runs effectively and efficiently, and all compliance and statutory obligations are met, alongside having operational oversight for large-scale complex digital and innovation partnerships.

Over the past decade our digital work has expanded and our network with industry specialists has evolved and widened. At its inception, the digital team first partnered with Google Creative Labs in 2012 to create Midsummer Night's Dreaming. From this, we collaborated with Intel and The Imaginarium Studios to explore motion capture in onstage performance inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfKcucNfN2M - The Tempest in 2016, then took those learnings to create a mixed reality experience of The Seven Ages of Man in 2018, and most recently experimented within Puck's world inhttps://vimeo.com/715939851/1a5953f0dc - Dream (2021) a live online performance set in a virtual midsummer forest.

This is a full time, permanent position based in either Stratford-upon-Avon or London, with flexible and hybrid working available.

You will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, typically 10am until 6pm, with occasional weekend work. The Digital Development department is based in Stratford-upon-Avon, with travel to other sites and touring venues as necessary.

We are committed to building a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all individuals.

The Royal Shakespeare Company (no. 212481) is a registered charity.
