The Nursery is a global home for improv classes, courses and shows based in London. A registered charity (non-profit organisation) with over ten over years experience teaching confidence, creativity and communication to everyone from those new to performing to seasoned veterans polishing their skills, the Nursery is a leading light in improvisation across the globe.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
To lead the strategy for ongoing diversity and inclusion practices within the student body and staff of The Nursery. The recruitment of this role is central to the ethos of the Nursery, and the successful candidate will be at the heart of decision making, sitting at a senior management level. We are seeking a skilled practitioner who is passionate about inclusion and outreach work, as we look to significantly expand access to our services for under-represented groups.
This role is the first of its kind within improvisation across Europe, and our hope is for the work to be influential across the industry. As such we are open to various approaches to this role and for a highly skilled practitioner to make it their own.
Working alongside the Education manager and senior management team the successful candidate will be responsible for helping The Nursery Theatre achieve several key aims: To champion inclusion across the Artistic and Educational programmes, develop and implement practical strategies to increase access to activities for people who are proportionally underrepresented, developing bespoke plans for identified target groups and partnering with like-minded external organisations to deliver industry wide projects.
