Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Piano and/or Trumpet teacher to join Pelican Music, teaching children predominantly between 4 - 11 years old.

Job Description

In School Tuition: Teaching takes place within our partner schools. We work with multiple state primary schools across London. Teachers should be adaptable to different teaching situations and be able to work within the expectations of a school.

Centre Based w12: We run an after school teaching service from our centre in Shepherds Bush. Students are taught on site after school Monday - Friday.

At Home Tuition: Teachers are required to visit homes to deliver tuition. Teaching is organised to take place in the same area per night to ensure the maximum number of students are able to be taught.

Job Requirements

  • Have or be studying towards a degree in music or hold DipABRSM or similar in teaching
  • Grade 8 or equivalent standard on your first instrument.
  • Competency in music theory, improvisation and sight reading
  • At least 6 months' experience in teaching children
  • A clean criminal record and a current enhanced DBS check (formerly known as the CRB check).
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Be a member of thehttp://www.musiciansunion.org.uk/ - Musicians Union, https://www.ism.org/ - Incorporated Society of Musicians, or have your own public liability insurance.
  • A proficiency with keyboard skills is also seen as a positive.
