Location: Year 1 - principally Slough and supporting associated activity in Crawley and Spelthorne
Years 2 & 3 - Slough, Surrey and West Sussex


This role is home based and requires weekly face-to-face work within defined target communities. It will also require occasional travel for team meetings and events in the South East

We're now looking for a Placemaking Creative Producer, working in Slough, Surrey and West Sussex. You'll be working with four other Placemaking Creative Producers, each working in a different Priority Place. Your role will be to act as a catalyst, taking a youth-led approach to co-create work with key communities. You'll be enabling children and young people to find their voice and influence what happens where they live, through youth-led creative projects in communities and schools. You'll need to be great at building relationships, both with young people and with key decision makers, and at developing and delivering projects with multiple stakeholders. We'll be sharing our learning far and wide, advocating for others to put young peoples' voices at the heart of their local development.

In year 1, this role will be working principally in Slough with some activity in Crawley and Spelthorne. Location of activity in years 2 and 3 will be dependent on emerging relationships and opportunities in Slough, Surrey and West Sussex which will be identified and discussed during year 1. Activity beyond the first three years of the Creative Placemaking Programme will be agreed in future.

Job Requirements

Experience of developing and delivering complex projects from start to finish, preferably within an arts context

Experience of working with young people and youth-led approaches

Experience of working with and influencing stakeholders

Experience of working as part of multiple teams and autonomously

Experience of fundraising

Experience of working to and monitoring an agreed budget

Experience of using evaluation / impact measurement tools

Knowledge of the social and political contexts affecting young people

Knowledge of and interest in the arts

Knowledge of various digital platforms and tools

Ability to plan and deliver projects that actively address diversity and inclusivity

Excellent organisational and administrative skills, the ability to prioritise workload and keen attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Strong interpersonal skills

Job Responsibilities

To act as a catalyst, taking a youth-led approach to develop creative and cultural projects which respond to locally identified needs.

Using your communication skills, you will be building relationships with partners and key stakeholders in communities and schools in specific Arts Council England Priority Places, advocating for this work and developing joint initiatives.

You will be proactive in working with young people and key decision makers from local organisations and services to design, plan and deliver against key targets.

You will be responsible for sourcing additional localised funds, developing and delivering projects, measuring impact and exploring innovative creative approaches. You will make connections with existing and emerging opportunities to facilitate additional, place-responsive creative offers.

The role involves working as part of multiple teams and with high levels of self-motivation and autonomy as you grow the depth and reach of Artswork's youth-led work.
