Relationship Manager, Combined Arts (MN9-1), Arts Council England

The Arts Council England is looking for an enthusiastic advocate of culture and creativity to fill the role of Relationship Manager (Combined Arts) in the Midlands area team. This is a permanent part-time (0.5 FTE) job-share role based in our Nottingham office and will involve working across the Midlands.

As a Relationship Manager (Combined Arts), you will manage a portfolio of funded organisations and maintain an awareness of their performance against their business plan and their funding agreement with the Arts Council. You will also contribute to the assessment of their applications, liaising with the Investment Centre and recommending funding decisions to your Senior Relationship Manager and Leadership team.

In this Relationship Manager (Combined Arts) role, you can expect to:

• Manage a portfolio of funded organisations
• Maintain an awareness of their performance against their business plan and their funding agreement with the Arts Council
• Play an advisory and developmental role, supporting your portfolio of organisations in furthering their artistic ambition whilst building their financial and operational resilience
• Offer advice to organisations not funded through the National portfolio and support them, for example, to develop funding application.

To apply for this role, you will ideally have some knowledge of the Combined Arts. You will also have:

• Significant experience in engaging with arts and cultural organisations
• A good understanding of the cultural sector in England and of the current challenges and opportunities facing it
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to work well across the sector and within ACE across various teams
• Knowledge of business planning and financial reporting
• An understanding of place-based approaches to cultural development
