We are seeking an outstanding individual to take up the post of Scenic Construction Lecturer.

You will be responsible for teaching Stage and Scenic Construction, involving set building working with a range of materials and processes, the design and construction of scenic items, the use of specialist equipment and technology, and workshop management. You will supervise students undertaking production and project work and overseeing safe working practices. 

The Scenic Construction Lecturer works predominantly in the Design Realisation Pathway, which includes Prop-Making, Scenic Art, and Scenic Construction. The Production Arts Department is responsible for BA Production Arts, BA Video Design for Live Performance and MA Collaborative Theatre Production and Design; a series of short courses and outreach activities; and extensive production activity in the School’s programme of public-facing performances and events.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing teaching in your area of specialism. You will be organised, able to meet deadlines and manage your own workload. You will have up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety and a commitment to promoting safe working and inclusive practices.
