We are looking for a pro-active and efficient individual to assist in a small antiques showroom in the Pimlico Road area, one of the most popular interiors and design districts of London. The ideal candidate will have an interest in antiques and interiors and enjoy providing general and administrative help and support to the shop manager and the shop owner.
Main duties and responsibilities:
You will be working closely with and reporting to the shop manager, helping with the day to day running of the shop.
You will help to keep the shop presentable at all times, this includes assisting weekly in rearranging the shop furniture and the window displays, checking all lightbulbs every morning, removing sold items from the shop floor and carefully packing and labelling them with client information, unpacking any deliveries, and helping to manage the two storage spaces.
You will be responsible for stock levels of certain items in the shop, keeping an up to date inventory and ordering new stock when needed from our various suppliers.
You will assist with logistical operations, requesting shipping quotes for clients, carefully packaging sold items ready to ship, arranging delivery to the shop of any new items purchased at auction houses or antiques dealers in the UK and Europe.
Another key role will be loading new stock items onto our various online selling platforms.
On some days, you will be manning the shop alone, greeting customers, answering telephone calls, and helping with email enquiries.
Qualifications and skills:
-Good level of spoken and written English.
-General computer literacy skills – Microsoft 365 programs (outlook, word, excel).
-Must be physically able to lift and move furniture, including fragile and heavy items. (Training will be provided).
-Attention to detail, ability to work with fragile objects.
-Good organisation skills and efficiency.
-Driving licence preferred.
Part time, 24-25 hours per week over 3 days.
