The King's School, Worcester is looking for a Theatre and Events Technician who has a passion and enthusiasm for theatre and performance, alongside great technical knowledge, to join our Drama and Theatre Studies Department. The School benefits from outstanding performance facilities including a black box drama studio, an impressive dance studio and a theatre which seats 300. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Department, assisting with and running a variety of events throughout the year, including theatrical performances, dance shows, exam pieces, assemblies, presentations and lectures. A formal qualification in Drama or Technical Theatre is desirable but not essential if appropriate industry experience can be demonstrated. Safeguarding responsibilities of the successful candidate Staff are advised to maintain an attitude of "it could be happening here and probably is" as far as safeguarding is concerned and should always act in the best interest of the child. All staff are expected to actively promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils. This post involves significant contact with children and the postholder will sometimes be responsible for children; therefore they will be considered to be in regulated activity and must report any concerns in a timely manner. All staff must also attend annual safeguarding training and have proper regard for the School's safeguarding policy and procedures. Working pattern The role is permanent, full time, year round and will necessitate working some evenings and weekends so therefore requires flexibility in working hours. Salary Up to £26,746 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
