We are looking for an experienced Theatre Producer to provide leadership on a range of upcoming productions in London, on tour and internationally.

Job Description

ROYO is looking for a Producer to work across its upcoming productions and development slate.

Recent and current productions include Fisherman's Friend's: The Musical, Disney's Winnie the Pooh, The Cher Show, The Osmonds: A New Musical, Johannes Radebe Freedom Unleashed and Oti Mabuse: I Am Here.

The main focus of the role will be on imminent new productions and productions currently in development, scheduled to open in 2024/5. The position will be full time and based in ROYO's central London office.

The Producer will work directly under the Directors of the company and provide strategic leadership of upcoming productions, as well as the continued development of a slate of new work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the General Managers to deliver productions creatively and commercially.
  • To create and negotiate commercial structures, budgets, royalty structures, venue deal terms and intellectual property licensing arrangements.
  • Working with marketing agencies to plan marketing/press strategies for each production.
  • To report directly to the Directors and be a channel of communication from all relevant third parties.
  • Overseeing the contractual process to ensure that all company members are contracted appropriately.
  • To liaise with venues where appropriate, including West End theatre operators and booking touring venues.
  • Maintaining relationships with investors and partners where appropriate, including creating relevant documentation, investor packs and contracts.
  • To have an active role in the development of new productions including the acquisition of rights, appointment of creative teams and creation of rollout strategies.
  • To participate in finding and cultivating new work and artists.
  • To produce and facilitate readings and workshops of new work as required.
  • To read scripts and feedback as appropriate.

Job Requirements

Personal specification:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a theatrical production role.
  • Experience and confidence in negotiating deals with third parties.
  • Experience in writing budgets for west end and touring productions.
  • A high degree of understanding of sector wide collective agreements.
  • Active and engaged knowledge of the U.K. theatre ecosystem.
  • Highly organised, efficient and collaborative approach to working as part of a team.
  • Strong ability to problem solve and work under pressure.
  • A high degree of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and computing skills.
