We are looking to recruit a Young People's Programme Lead. The Young People's Programme Lead will ensure that our year-round offer from Next Gen is high impact, nationally recognised, locally rooted, and represents the rich diversity of ideas, people and cultures within our community. Reaching out and connecting with the wealth of local partners and stakeholders in our communities is a priority for this role - as our ambition is to work in the most under-served areas in our locale.

This role will work closely with the Artistic Director and oversee the Next Gen Coordinator; empowering them to help deliver our regular programme of activity. This is a role you can really make your own by developing new ideas and strategies, which link to both local and national priorities and initiatives that have a strong social impact.

Job Requirements

  • Experience of working with young people on creative projects
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience successfully managing budgets
  • Experience working in partnership with local and / or national organisations
  • Experience working with young people who may have complex requirements or challenging behaviour
  • Experience developing successful fundraising bids and proposals
  • Experience of evaluation and reporting to funders and stakeholders
  • Experience line managing staff
  • Experience safeguarding and providing pastoral support to young people
  • An understanding of co-created and / or participatory practice
  • A understanding of successful approaches to working with culturally diverse communities
  • A creative and entrepreneurial thinker
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Strong administration and project delivery skills

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the Artistic Director and Transformation-related roles to develop a new strategy for our Next Gen work, that will ensure BAC remains at the forefront of innovative practice for working with young people
  • Explore ways that young people can be better integrated in BAC's governance, workforce and leadership roles, including the possible; development of youth-led Citizen Assemblies
  • Explore options for developing and evolving our Creative Academies to ensure they are meeting local priorities and needs - and that they are linking with local Social Prescribing initiatives where appropriate
  • Work with the 'Evaluation and Data' Project to ensure all our Next Gen activities are effectively evaluated
  • Supported by the Next Gen Co-ordinator, oversee all aspects of our two Academies (Beatbox and Dance), including recruitment, safeguarding and generating performance and development opportunities for participants
