We are looking for an Applied Arts tutor to join the Art Foundation teaching team (FAD) in the Art and Design Department.

We are looking for an Applied Arts tutor to join the Art Foundation teaching team (FAD) in the Art and Design Department.

The role is a permanent 0.5 FTE, with a probation period and paid holidays. Role hours: 17.5 Hours per week

Mon 9-5pm, Tue 9-5pm and Wed 9-1pm

Teaching commitment: Mon 10-5pm, Tuesday 12-4pm, plus additional workshops as required. September - July during term time.

Interviews are scheduled for 6th December 2024.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have experience of teaching and assessing accredited L3 courses, preferably with industry / Creative practice experience. We would prefer knowledge of teaching in Textiles, Fashion and other Materials.

Job Responsibilities

This is a salaried role that will has a broad remit:

  • Leading the Applied Arts Pathway

Planning content, writing briefs, marking and supporting learner achievement in line with UAL Assessment Criteria.

  • Teaching on Applied Arts Pathway

Delivering specialist workshops, supporting production of creative work, specialist portfolios, digital submissions and delivering verbal and written feedback.

  • Supporting Learner attendance and achievement

Supporting applications to progress into higher education, work experience and employment. Learners' pastoral support.

You will be working with an experienced team of tutors and the course coordinator, and co teach with other Applied Arts tutors to deliver a specialist experience to learners on the Applied Arts Pathway.

We have a flexible approach to the team, including teaching across other pathways and swapping teaching days where required.
