PQA Bromsgrove & Redditch - Academy Assistants (Saturdays) Location: Lickey End First School, Bromsgrove Hours: Saturdays, 10am-1pm Start date: Saturday 28th February Pay: £12.50 per hour (£37.50 per session), increasing annually with UK minimum wage PQA Bromsgrove & Redditch is expanding as we move to our new home at Lickey End First School, and we are looking for two enthusiastic Academy Assistants to join our team. This role is ideal for anyone with a passion for the performing arts and a genuine interest in supporting young people. You'll work alongside our teaching staff to help deliver high quality weekend performing arts training to students aged 4-18, assisting with class support, supervision, and creating a positive, energetic learning environment. We're looking for individuals who are reliable, confident, and enjoy working with children and young people. Experience in performing arts is beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to get involved are just as important. PQA follows safer recruiting practices. An enhanced DBS on the update service is required for this role; this can be arranged if you do not currently hold one. Applicants must be 18+ Deadline: Midnight on Sunday 15th February An interest in or basic experience within the performing arts (acting, singing, dancing, filmmaking, or related areas) A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people aged 4-18 Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work as part of a team A positive, supportive attitude and confidence in a busy classroom environment Willingness to assist teaching staff with supervision, class activities, and general academy duties Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness for one to be arranged) Availability to work Saturdays, 10am-1pm, at Lickey End First School from 28th February Applicants must be 18+ Support the delivery of performing arts classes across Acting, Singing, Dancing and Film & TV Assist teaching staff with class activities, warm ups, group work and supervision Help create a positive, safe and encouraging environment for students aged 4-18 Provide one to one support to students when needed, including helping with confidence, focus and engagement Assist with signing students in and out, managing registers and general academy organisation Help prepare teaching spaces, set up equipment and ensure rooms are tidy before and after sessions Supervise breaktimes and transitions between classes Follow all safeguarding procedures and report any concerns to the Academy Principal Contribute to the smooth running of the academy during Saturday sessions (10am-1pm) Please email your CV and a cover letter to [email protected]Job Summary
