Eloquent Dance is looking for a confident, organised and people-centred Academy Manager to lead the smooth running and continued growth of our Saturday Youth Academy. Eloquent is a Birmingham-based organisation using dance to develop people, create bold work and move communities towards purpose, opportunity and creative futures. Our Youth Academy provides high-quality dance training for children and young people aged 3-18. Alongside developing strong dancers, we help young people build confidence, discipline, creativity, identity and a genuine sense of belonging. As Academy Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing Academy operations each Saturday and providing a positive, professional and approachable presence for students, parents, carers and staff. You will ensure that every family receives a warm and consistent experience from their first enquiry and trial class through to becoming a fully engaged member of the Eloquent community. This is more than a front-of-house role. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of Academy administration, strengthen communication with families, improve attendance and retention, support the teaching team and help us grow the Academy. You will work closely with Eloquent's CEO and Artistic Director, Executive Assistant, Producer, dance tutors to maintain high standards across the Academy. We are looking for a warm, confident and highly organised Academy Manager who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people. You must be available on Saturdays, committed to Eloquent's faith-led and inclusive values, and willing to complete an enhanced DBS check. Hours: 11 hours p/w £13/h Lead the smooth running of Eloquent's Saturday Youth Academy, providing a welcoming and professional presence for students, families and staff. Manage registration, attendance, signing in and collection procedures, student wellbeing, behaviour and safeguarding. Act as the main point of contact for parents and respond promptly to questions and concerns. Follow up enquiries, trial bookings, absences and outstanding registrations to improve enrolment and retention. Support tutors and assistants, monitor class standards and ensure sessions run safely and on time. Maintain accurate student records, registers and communications. Coordinate uniforms, resources, performances and Academy events. Provide weekly updates on enquiries, trials, attendance and membership, while contributing ideas to help the Academy grow and strengthen its community. You will have experience working with young people, families and/or performing arts programmes, alongside strong leadership, communication and administrative skills.
You must be approachable with parents, calm under pressure and confident managing behaviour, safeguarding concerns and unexpected situations.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, solution-focused and able to take ownership of the Academy's day-to-day operation and growth. Experience in dance, education, youth work, student recruitment or programme management is desirable.
Tuesdays 10:00am-2:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am-2:00pm onsite, plus two flexible remote administration hours across Monday& FridayJob Responsibilities
