Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team in July 2025.

They will play a range of leading female characters in our existing programmes. Most of these parts are teenage characters.

We are looking for an Actor / Facilitators to play female characters. The position is full-time (5 days per week, Monday to Friday. Successful candidates will need to be available in early/mid July for a few days for induction and some initial training, and then officially start on the 21st July 2025.

The roles will involve delivering our successful theatre in education programmes to schools and other venues. The successful candidate will need to be based near our base in Birmingham and will mostly tour schools and colleges in the Midlands. The job involves touring with some overnight stays in other parts of the UK.

A full UK driving licence is preferable for this positions.

The full-time position the salary is £25,500 per annum with 33 days holiday and pension contributions.

We recommend that applicants apply quickly due to the quick turnaround of the position. We will be inviting any suitable candidates to come in for a live audition based on their application and self-tape within the next couple of weeks. We will fill the position as soon as we find the right candidate.

Job Requirements

  • Clean Driving licence is desirable but not essential.
  • Successful applicants will need to be based in or around Birmingham.
  • Understanding of the value of using drama and the arts to engage young people in issue-based topics.
  • Ability to work with children and young people in an inclusive and non-judgemental way.
  • Ability to manage your own workload.
  • Ability to solve problems, working flexibly and collaboratively and the ability to remain calm in sometimes pressurised environments.
  • Willing to tour to area outside of the West midlands. Accommodation and subsistence are provided touring outside of the West midlands and surrounding areas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performing and facilitating Loudmouth's theatre in education sessions with children and young people about RSHE topics.
  • Enabling children and young people to identify early warning signs of unhealthy relationships.
  • Support in the evaluation processes by completing and returning monitoring forms and facilitating the completion of questionnaires by children and young people.
  • Adhering to Loudmouth's safeguarding policy and procedures, including raising any safeguarding concerns in line with the organisation's policy.
  • Undertaking all relevant training associated with Loudmouth's work.
  • Replying in a timely manner to email correspondence and meeting all deadlines.
  • Attending in house training.
