Job Summary

Drawing Voices is looking for a mature actor/musician skilled at storytelling and facilitation to join the 2026 project The Ripple Effect. Based near Hertfordshire or London.

Job Description

The Ripple Effect is a joyful and lively celebration of storytelling with dementia carers and clients. In collaboration with local dementia support groups, we will be running creative workshops in which the lead artist, a director/writer and an actor/musician guide the participants
through a mix of musical, visual arts and writing activities to explore the content of the performance.

The process will culminate in a 30-minute live show at each group's final session, along with an audio play for public consumption.

This is a callout for the actor/musician who will support us in facilitating two workshops. For the devising, rehearsals and performances, they will be joined by a second performer.

2x facilitation workshops: 1/2 days afternoon Feb. 18th and 20th
1x devising day: late February
2x rehearsal days: early March
2x performances: March 11th and 13th 1/2 days PM
1x recording day: June

Working hours fall within the standard 9-5 working hours

Workshops and performances in Letchworth and Stevenage
Rehearsals in London (or Hertfordshire TBC dependent on actors)
Travel expenses are covered, but artists should be based near Hertfordshire or London

Fee : £1120
(Full days paid at £160, workshop days at £120)

The dates and fees cover Phase 1 of the project. Ideally, the artist would carry on to Phase 2 in May/June, which will have a similar scope.
