This role will be for an Art Assistant at an Art Club (every Thursday afternoon from 3pm) and Art Assistant for Children's Birthday Parties (Weekends). You will be Trained on how to Assist during our time together. You absolutely must meet these 6 criteria:
1- Be fluent in the English language
2- Have an ENHANCED DBS certificate (a basic DBS is not enough)
3- Be self-employed and responsible for your own tax
4- Live in London (ideally close to East Finchley, N2)
5- Have availability every Thursday afternoon from 3pm and most Weekends during term time.
6- Have a degree in Visual arts (or still studying)
Ideally you will:
- Have experience with working with/teaching children aged 4-11
- Be able to commit to the position for at least 1 academic year (until July 2026)
You will be expected to:
- Be willing to travel all over London using public transport efficiently (we work mainly in travel zones 1,2,3 and 4)
- Be a punctual person, always early and never late
- Be able to work hard and consistently in short periods of time
- Be a person who takes the initiative and adapts well in social situations
- Have an enthusiastic and supportive attitude
- Be able to take very specific directions easily
- Be available for an online interview and an in-person practical interview
What you are Paid:
What you are paid for the Art Club and Art Parties slightly differ, due to the different budgets we receive. All our workshops are set at 2.5 hours at the maximum (including the actual workshop and set up and set down time). You are paid £35 for one session of Art Club and you are paid £45 for one Party. (For Parties only, you are also paid more, if the travel to the Party is located on the outer travel zone perimeters. Full details are outlined for you, in reply to your application). The minimum hours of work for this job is 2.5 per week (every Thursday) and the maximum is 10 hours per week (including weekends), from September 2025 to July 2026.Job Requirements

- Assisting at Children's Parties with children aged 4-14 on Weekends during term time.
- Assisting duties include (but are not limited to): setting up chairs and tables, giving out art materials, supporting and encouraging children with their Artwork, supporting the Facilitator by carrying out duties given, cleaning tablecloths and folding them neatly, cleaning and putting away art materials methodically, setting down chairs and tables at the end of every session.Useful Links
