Laura I. Art Gallery CIC is an award-winning, not-for-profit gallery with an international reputation, managing over 900 artworks from more than 70 artists. We represent ambitious and diverse talent while curating memorable exhibitions, both online and offline, and driving forward the message that art is a catalyst for social impact.

We are seeking a confident, ambitious Gallery Manager to join our team and play a central role in ensuring that our artists are represented to the highest standard while driving sales and developing partnerships. This is a sales-driven role, ideal for someone who is both commercially minded and passionate about the arts.

Job Requirements

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Strong background in sales or business development (experience in art sales is desirable but not essential).

  • Highly ambitious and target-driven, with confidence to represent a multi-award-winning gallery.

  • Excellent digital skills, including experience with CMS/CRM systems, inventory management platforms, and website backends (training provided if needed).

  • Confident networker - able to attend exhibitions, art fairs, and collector meetings independently.

  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work strategically, independently, and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience in marketing, curating exhibitions, or working within the art sector.

  • Strong understanding of digital content creation and artist promotion.

  • A personal passion for the arts and belief in its power to transform society.

Job Responsibilities

Role Responsibilities

As Gallery Manager, you will:

  • Manage the artist inventory - ensure all artworks are uploaded, updated, and accurately represented across our website and partner platforms.

  • Oversee marketing & promotion - produce newsletters, organise artist interviews, update social media/online platforms, and promote artists' work effectively.

  • Curate exhibitions - manage online shows and, after initial months in the role, contribute to pop-up and physical exhibitions.

  • Drive sales - secure sales by confidently engaging with collectors, attending art fairs and exhibitions, following up with prospects, and developing sales strategies.

  • Build artist relationships - maintain regular communication with artists to ensure they feel supported and promoted.

  • Lead and mentor volunteers - oversee a small team of volunteers, helping them develop digital and professional skills while supporting gallery operations.

  • Report strategically - provide the Gallery Direc
