art-K is the UK’s largest private art education service, delivering fun, skill-based classes to over 7,500 children each week. Our programme helps develop artistic skills, build confidence, and support mental well-being through inspiring projects taught by passionate educators.

Job Description

At our Winchester branch, the Club Manager is responsible for running the studio, with time split across teaching (50%), class preparation (25%), and administration and promotion (25%). Full training is provided in our teaching methods, with ongoing support from our central team and a national network of art teachers.

Working Hours & Schedule:

This is a full-time role with a fixed schedule during term time and adjusted hours during school holidays:

  • Term Time: 40 hours per week on the following schedule:

Tuesday: 13:30 - 21:30
Wednesday 11:30 - 19:30
Thursday 9:45 - 17:45
Friday 10:00 - 18:00
Saturday 08:00 - 16:00

  • School Holidays (14 weeks/year): Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Salary: £36,095 - £43,763 per annum.

Fixed salary weighted based on experience, which will increase as the studio grows. Promotional opportunities are available every term.

Start of the Role: 1st Dec 2025

Please note that we will only consider candidates who are available to work the full schedule and are able to start on the specified start date.

Job Requirements

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds an art degree or equivalent experience across a range of artistic mediums.
  • Has experience teaching or working with children in an educational or creative setting.
  • Possesses strong communication skills, including the ability to empathise with others, to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Exhibits a positive, proactive attitude and works well both independently and as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities

Teaching
Teach children who love art in a fun, supportive environment with high teacher-student ratios. Deliver engaging, skill-based programmes tailored to individual needs during term time and fun, interactive sessions during holidays. Monitor progress, prepare personalised learning plans, and create a safe, inspiring space for students to flourish. Build strong relationships with students and parents through regular progress updates.

Training & Development
Take part in a two-year training programme covering teaching methods, art techniques, child development, and business administration, with additional bespoke training available. Continuously develop artistic and teaching skills to enhance class delivery.

Studio Management
Oversee studio operations, materials, and team management. Mentor and motivate staff, track growth and retention, and uphold art-K's standards. Engage the local community, coordinate events, manage bookings per GDPR, and follow safeguarding and H&S policies.
