Job Description

Summary of main duties

As part of our Artist Development team, you'll provide vital support across projects and programs, with a strong focus on HOME Arches. Your role will include:

Artist Development

  • Regularly monitor the Artist Development inbox, respond to queries, and liaise with artists and staff.
  • Support delivery of training and engagement events, both online and in person.
  • Coordinate registrations, manage logistics, and communicate with participants.
  • Assist in creating systems for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Support the reporting in Artist Development activity
  • Contribute to analysis of evaluation findings to identify trends and recommendations.

HOME Arches

  • Liaise with artists, confirm details, and follow up on requirements.
  • Collect feedback and organise documentation for reporting and archives.
  • Manage risk assessments and ensure spaces are prepared for artist needs.
  • Welcome artists, lead inductions, and work with technicians and visitor teams.
  • Maintain and update booking systems, handle cancellations, and improve processes.
  • Support additional events and contribute to refining administrative tools.

Additional Duties

  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
  • Act as an ambassador for HOME and uphold health and safety standards.
  • Participate in working groups, training, and stay updated on best practices.
  • Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and travel when required.
  • Carry out any other duties consistent with the role as directed by your manager.

Job Requirements

The Artist Development Assistant supports the effective delivery of events and
opportunities for artists working across Theatre, Film and Visual Arts.
This role has a focus on the day-to-day coordination and administration of
HOME Arches, a free, bespoke artist development hub designed to support
artists across a variety of disciplines in Greater Manchester.
Working as part of the Artist Development Team, this role will help
coordinate workshops, masterclasses, creative laboratories and
networking opportunities for artists engaging with HOME.
Led by the Head of Artist Development, the Artist Development
Assistant will support the implementation of booking systems and
evaluation mechanisms across various programs and events.
