Job Summary

Brixton House is seeking an Artistic Coordinator

Job Description

Cross-Team Coordination

  • Act as a key liaison between the Programming & Production and Creative and Civic Engagement teams.
  • Assist in managing project workflows and communication between departments and with external partners.

Programming & Production Support

  • Support the Head of Programming & Production, the Producer and the wider team in the delivery of the artistic programme.
  • Assist with contracting artists, creatives and companies, ensuring timely and accurate administration.

Creative and Civic Engagement Support

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engagement projects such as Brixton House Good Neighbours, Demonstrate, Young Associates, and family activities.
  • Coordinate, host, and support engagement sessions for a wide range of participants including young people, schools, families, and community partners.

Programme Evaluation

  • Lead on managing evaluation processes across Creative and Civic engagement and Producing initiatives.
  • Work closely with teams to ensure effective monitoring, feedback collection and impact reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reflective practice and continual improvement.

Marketing

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to promote Creative and Civic Engagement programmes
  • Create and disseminate mailouts to community and education providers

Job Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience producing cultural or community-based projects that reflect social issues, civic themes, or grassroots needs.
  • Strong understanding of co-creation and collaborative methods in participatory arts.
  • Demonstrable ability to engage with a wide range of community members across varied ages, backgrounds, and experiences.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, including budget planning and delivery.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to use own initiative to problem solve
  • Comfortable working across disciplines and sectors-arts, education, civic life.
  • Experience of developing projects with schools and/or youth audiences.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Confident with evaluation methodologies and working with data and impact tools.
  • Experience of marketing cultural or community projects
  • Committed to the values of anti-racism, accessibility, and inclusive practice.
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends as required
