Description

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced and dynamic Art Workshop Facilitators to deliver inspiring, curriculum-linked workshops to groups of Year 9 students at a heritage property. The workshop content and structure has already been developed.

Job Description

The ideal candidates will have a background in the creative arts, experience working with young people, and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

The workshops will take place over one full day at Ickworth House, a National Trust property in Suffolk on March 20th as part of The Foundation's Art Starts pilot programming. They will focus on themes such as identity, portraiture and visual storytelling and support students at a key transition point ahead of GCSE subject choices. You will be part of a small team of workshop facilitators.

Facilitators will be responsible for guiding students through hands-on activities that connect to the artworks they explore on site. Workshops will be delivered to groups of approximately 15-25 students and take place with school staff present on site.

Applicants should note that the workshops are structured around five core material processes. Shortlisted candidates invited to a second-round interview may be asked to respond practically to one of these materials: photography, sculpture, embroidery, stencil making/poster printing, or collage and image transfer. Applicants are encouraged to indicate which material(s) they are applying to lead on and their experience of working with these processes.

Structured feedback forms will be shared post-workshop and you will be expected to fill them out within 48 hours of completing the workshops. These should take no more than two hours to complete.

Applicants must be available on March 20th and UK-based, ideally located in the East of England.

The salary will range from £230-£350/day (dependent upon experience).

The role is for one full day (8.5 hours per day), possibly extending to 1.5 including allotted time for feedback post-workshop. If the workshops are deemed a success by the foundation, there is scope for the role to continue on an as yet undefined basis.
