Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Head of Automation and Stage to join our Stage and Automation team at Curve. As assistant Head of Department you will support the Head of Automation and Stage in the day-to-day planning and running of a busy Technical Stage and Automation Department.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have proven experience in all key areas of the automation specialism, including Rigging, Programming, Maintenance, alongside experience of supporting a large team of Technicians.

The role will work closely with the Head of Stage and Automation as well as other key technical team members to ensure Curve's programming of Visiting and Made at Curve productions are facilitated to the highest standard. You will be given responsibility for specific areas of the specialism matching your experience alongside independently managing projects as agreed.

This role would suit any individual with proven experience and advanced knowledge in automation in the entertainment industry and stagecraft in a production role who would like to take a step towards managing and supporting a skilled team of technicians. You will be given space and support to develop your skills whilst still engaging in the hands-on practical day to day requirements of a busy stage and automation department and passing on knowledge to the wider team. The role is primarily based at Curve Theatre in Leicester, however from time to time you may be asked to support Made at Curve work out on tour.
