Key Responsibilities - Assist the Orchestra Manager with day-to-day management of the Contract Orchestra. Collective and individual communication with contract and freelance musicians regarding the Company's work. - Ensuring effective liaison and communication with all departments regarding Orchestra business and player availability. - Engagement of wind, brass, percussion, keyboard and specialist extra players, in consultation with Section Principal players, Leader, conductors, Orchestra Manager and Head of Orchestra and Concerts including booking emergency replacements. - Working with Orchestra Manager to ensure adequate attendance, and undertaking concert / show management duty at all Orchestra calls including at touring and concert venues. - Working with Orchestra Manager and Head of Orchestra & Concerts to process Orchestra N/A's in line with departmental policy and procedure, taking consistent decisions and referring appeals to the Head of Orchestra & Concerts. - Preparing pay sheets for freelance musicians and other material as required by the Accounts department. - Lead & administer the Professional Engagement Scheme with the Royal Northern College of Music and the Orchestra. - Leading and co-ordinating the appointments process of the Orchestra, including assisting with auditions and trials as required in conjunction with the Orchestra Manager. - To maintain all pertinent employment records including appraisals, NA's, and media allocation. - To work with the Orchestra Manager, Head of Orchestra and Concerts and H&S representatives to ensure that good standards of health and safety are maintained and to administer first aid when required ( first aid training will be provided if required). - Attendance at and convening meetings as required, including deputising for the Orchestra Manager. - Ensuring records are up to date, accurate and compliant with legislation.
