Job Summary

Watford Palace Theatre is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on Assistant Producer to work collaboratively within the Producing and Programming team, supporting the Producer and Senior Producer to keep the department running smoothly and effectively.

Job Description

The Assistant Producer will perform vital administrative tasks, support produced work and be responsible for programming across some of our spaces. They will also lend administrative support to the programming of our 600-seat auditorium.

Job Requirements

- Previous experience working in a theatre environment for either a producer or venue OR demonstrable knowledge of theatre production.
- Excellent administration and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Problem solving and planning skills.
- The ability to prioritise workload and use initiative.
- A good knowledge of theatre ecology and the place of regional theatre within that.
- A passion for theatre and theatre audiences.
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- A passion for working collaboratively.

Job Responsibilities

- Producing events in our Cabaret and Studio spaces.
- Drafting contracts.
- Creating contact lists and welcome packs for productions.
- Admin for productions.
- Research and recommend potential programmed work.
- Lead on scheduling for the producing team.
- Work with Marketing to ensure all assets are available for programmed work.
- Assist producing with ad hoc admin work.
- Maintain departmental financial records and assist with project budgets.
- Be an ambassador for Watford Palace Theatre at press nights, scratch nights, industry and PR opportunities.
